Project type: Located in a mature residential quarter of Dublin, this development comprises two new-build contemporary mews houses, each extending to approximately 150 m². The design interprets the traditional Dublin mews typology through a modern architectural language, combining clean lines, generous glazing and carefully proportioned volumes to create bright, adaptable family homes within a compact urban footprint.

Each house is arranged over three levels, with three well-proportioned bedrooms positioned on the lower and middle floors to provide privacy and separation from the main living spaces. The top floor is conceived as an open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, designed to maximise light and outlook.

Full-height glazing and sliding doors open directly onto a south-facing roof terrace, allowing the principal living space to extend outdoors and capture sunlight throughout the day. This elevated terrace becomes a natural focal point for entertaining, dining and relaxation, offering long views across surrounding rooftops and towards the spire of a nearby historic church, which provides a distinctive visual landmark and sense of place.

At ground level, each property benefits from its own private garage, discreetly integrated into the façade, as well as a landscaped rear garden that offers additional outdoor amenity. The material palette combines brickwork that references the surrounding context with contemporary detailing in metal and glass, ensuring the houses sit comfortably within their setting while expressing a clearly modern identity.

Careful attention has been given to energy efficiency, daylighting and spatial flow, resulting in two elegant, modern mews homes that respond sensitively to their Dublin context while offering generous, flexible living spaces for contemporary urban life.
